The eleventh annual Business Count is underway and The Region of Durham is encouraging all local businesses including home-based businesses, non-profit organizations and farms to participate by completing the Business Count survey by October 21.

The Business Count is a Regional project that aims to collect employment statistics and promote economic development initiatives. The project gathers data about local businesses, including the type and nature of the business, the number of employees, plans for growth, floor space and location.

Data collected through the Business Count will be used for municipal planning and analysis purposes and to update local business directories. Businesses are encouraged to utilize the online directory at durham.ca to “look local first” when seeking out new suppliers.

Business Count surveyors have completed in-person visits and the online survey will remain available until Friday, October 21.

Sensitive data will be kept confidential and used only by the Region and area municipalities. To view the complete Terms of Use, or for more information, please visit durham.ca/BusinessCount.
