Chalk Lake Springs temporarily closed during Lake Ridge Road construction

The Regional Municipality of Durham, in co-operation with the City of Pickering, Town of Whitby, and townships of Scugog and Uxbridge, is rehabilitating Lake Ridge Road (Regional Road 23). The Chalk Lake Springs are temporarily closed during this construction.

When: Access to the springs is expected to reopen towards the end of July once construction is substantially completed in the area of Chalk Lake Road.

Where: Chalk Lake Springs on Lake Ridge Road in the Township of Uxbridge.

Why: The closure of the springs is in place for public safety due to road reconstruction work on Lake Ridge Road.

Note: The Region realizes that this temporary closure of the springs is disruptive and will make every effort to complete the work as quickly as possible.
