Committee of Council Highlights for May 16, 2022:

  • Jumpstart Multisport Court Opening BBQ a Success
    The official opening of the Jumpstart Multisport Court was celebrated with a free community BBQ, music, free t shirts, a visit with Sparky, family friendly games and activities.
  • Trail Volunteers Install New Posts and Directional Signs on Trails
    The Trails Committee and their volunteers are installing new trail posts and directional signs as part of a trail improvement project.
  • Committee Supports Proposal to Modernized Procurement By Law and Processes
    Committee approved a proposal to modernize the procurement by laws and develop procurement procedures and templates. The project will result in greater consistency and improvements to procurement practices. The Townships of  Brock, Scugog and Uxbridge are collaborating to share costs and deliverables.
  • Township Releases Financial Update on the Culvert Project
    Committee received a report updating the financial costs incurred to date on the project. The Township also published a news release to update the public on legal issues associated with the project. Construction on the project was completed in 2021.
  • Township to Implement ‘No Parking’ on Conc. 6 and 7 Near Trailheads
    Committee received and endorsed a report recommending changes to on road parking on Conc. 6 and 7 to improve public safety and access for Emergency Vehicles. The recommendations were based on a consulting report which looked at safety concerns related to on road parking on the roads near the trail systems. Committee also asked staff for a report on how best to plan to enforce the proposed changes.
  • New Signs Could Help Clarify Addressing on Carmody Court and Carmody Lane
    Committee has asked Public works to investigate the intersection of Carmody Lane and Carmody Court and propose signage that would help the public locate addresses in the area.
