• Region Unveils a New Toolkit to Support Uxbridge Businesses
    The Region of Durham Economic Development Division (Invest Durham), in conjunction with the Uxbridge Economic Development Advisory Committee unveiled new tools to support local businesses. Located at https://www.uxbridge.ca/BusinessToolkit, the toolkit provides links to permits, incentives, licences, and processes of interest to the local business community.
  • Township to Partner with Central Counties Tourism on New Tourism Initiative
    Committee supported a request to partner with Central Counties Tourism to develop an augmented reality trail experience based on the soon to be unveiled Path of Inclusion in Elgin Park. The program will be funded by Central Counties and the vision is to feature 4 6 virtual experiences that will be available to view in Elgin Park.
  • Trucks will Continue to Roll on Conc. 6
    Committee supported a staff report recommending that trucks will continue to be permitted on Con. 6. Residents signed a petition asking the Township to prohibit trucks on Conc. 6 south of Hwy 47. Public works completed a traffic count and determined the number of trucks on the route was 3% of the total traffic and did not
    warrant a ban on trucks using the road.
  • New Stop Sign For Wagg Rd. and Conc. 3
    Committee voted to install stop signs to turn the intersection of Conc. 3 and Wagg Rd. into a 4 way stop. The intersection is currently a two way stop.
  • Regional Building Activity Report Released
    The annual Building Activity Report includes building permit and construction activity for Durham Region and the Greater Toronto and Hamilton Area (GTHA) for 2022, with comparisons to 2021. The Township of Uxbridge saw 171 new residential units built in 2022.
  • Township Passes New Banner Policy
    Committee approved a report outlining a Banner Policy specifying who may apply to install banners, and who pays costs associated with installing and removing banners on Township poles. The policy will come into effect on Jan. 1, 2024.
