On Jan 12th, the Province of Ontario put in place an Emergency Order and implemented additional COVID-19 Restrictions. Effective Jan. 14th, the Provincial government has implemented a Stay-at-Home order, and residents are expected to stay at home except for essential purposes such as accessing health care and medication, grocery shopping, exercise, and walking pets.

The Province has lowered limits for gatherings to a maximum 5 people outdoors (previous limit of 10). Indoor organized public events and social gatherings are not permitted except with members of the same household. Outdoor activities such as playing hockey, scrimmaging or other group sports are prohibited.

As a provider of critical services to our community, the Township of Uxbridge will continue to deliver services and operate through the lockdown although some modifications will be made related to public access to our facilities. Uxpool and the Uxbridge Arena are closed until further notice. Town Hall is closed to the Public. Residents seeking assistance from Town Hall are asked to phone to learn how to access services. Fire permits are being sold on-line at www.uxbridge.ca. Permits for an oversize fire must still be purchased from the Fire Hall. The Zephyr and Uxbridge library are offering curb-side service only.

Many businesses and enterprises face specific operating restrictions. These are described in more detail at https://files.ontario.ca/moh-enhanced-provincewide-shutdown-en-2021-01-12-v3.pdf. You can still support our local stores and restaurants by ordering using pick-up, take-out, or delivery services.

Residents are asked to stay home to the fullest extent possible.

Please continue to limit all contacts outside your immediate family and wear a mask in public. Only by working together can we flatten the curve and prevent further pandemic restrictions.

To report a COVID violation, please contact the Durham Regional Police Service non-emergency number at 905-579-1520 or submit a complaint online at or submit a complaint online at www.drps.ca under Online Services - Community Concerns.
