Huck Finn is back!

Attention all residents of Uxbridge and area…let’s go fishing again! Yes, it’s that time of year! Last year we reformatted the Huck Finn Youth Fishing days from a one day event to a several day event. You can fish at Elgin Pond at your leisure between Saturday, April 22nd and Saturday, April 29th.  Daily prizes to be won. Submit pics of you and your family fishing, your catch, fun around the pond….draws to be made daily. The event, sponsored by Canadian Tire, is supported by the Ministry of Natural Resources, Uxbridge Township, the Royal Canadian Legion, the BIA, the Optimist Club, OFAH Zone G and the Pickering Rod and Gun Club.

Anytime between Saturday April 22nd starting at 9:00 am through to Saturday April 29th finishing at 5:00 pm. take your family to Elgin Pond that will be the home of 100’s of Brook trout. Participants 15 years of age and under will be eligible for daily prizes!

Also watch for special event days posted on the website such as the Pickering Rod and Gun Club being on site Saturday, April 22nd to lend out fishing rods and provide free bait from 9:00 am until 1:00 pm Or meet with the Uxbridge Firefighters and Sparky on Saturday, April 22nd, …..the list goes on!

Last year proved that our new event format enabled families more flexibility to fish at their leisure in a comfortable setting. We encourage the entire community to come out and have a great time with your family!
