DEVELOPMENT CHARGES ACT, 1997, S.O. 1997, c.27

 TAKE NOTICE that on Monday, July 11, the Council of Township of Uxbridge passed By-law 2022-093 under Section 2 of the Development Charges Act, 1997, to amend By-law 2019-076 with respect to Township-wide development charge rates.

AND TAKE NOTICE that any person or organization may appeal to the Ontario Land Tribunal (OLT) under section 14 of the Act, in respect of the Development Charges By-Law, by filing with the Clerk of the Township of Uxbridge on or before Friday, August 19, 2022, a notice of appeal setting out the objection to the By-law and the reasons supporting the objection. Appeals filed with the Office of the Clerk 51 Toronto St S, Uxbridge ON, L9P 1H1, will be accepted on or before Friday, August 19, 2022. A processing fee is payable to the Township of Uxbridge’s Office with the appeal application. The appellant is advised to contact OLT to access the required forms and applicable Provincial fees.

The charges in the aforementioned amending by-law will apply to all new residential and non-residential development, subject to certain terms, conditions and limited exemptions as identified therein.

Development charges are levied against new development to pay for the increased capital costs related to the provision of such Township services as Development-Related Studies, Library Services, By-law Enforcement (Animal Control) and Parks & Recreation. No key maps are included as the development charges apply to all lands in the Township. In addition to the services and rates amended under the DC Amendment Study, the Township’s current By-law No. 2019-076 will continue to apply as it relates to all Township-wide Fire & Rescue and Services Related to a Highway (includes Township Engineering and Public Works). Both the residential and non-residential development charge rates are in effect as of July 11, 2022. A copy of the development charges amending by-law is available for examination at the Clerk’s Department 8:30 am and 4:30 pm Monday to Friday (excluding holidays).
