Beginning in May, construction work will take place on Planks Lane between Main St.  and Marietta St. Sanitary sewers, and storm sewers will be updated and the street scape will be rebuilt with a curb and gutter. A new multi-use path and sidewalk will help facilitate active transportation to both Uxbridge Secondary School and Joseph Gould Public School. The sidewalk (north side) and multi-use pathway (south side) will mirror the work that was done on Planks Lane east of Marietta St. over the last two summers. (see cross-section diagram of Planks Lane).

Public Works held a virtual Information Session on March 21st about the project. This portion of Planks Lane will be closed to traffic during construction. Local traffic and emergency vehicles will be able to access the street. The project will be substantially completed before September in order not to interfere with school traffic.

Timeline:

  • Tender Awarded – April 2023
  • Pre-Construction Meeting – May 2023
  • Mobilization and setup – mid May 2023
  • Construction Start – May 2023
  • Substantial Completion – Start of September, 2023
  • Final Clean-up – end of September 2023
