Back to SearchBeginning in early July, construction work will take place on Plank’s Lane between Franklin St. and Marietta St. Sanitary sewer, storm sewer, and water mains will be updated and the street scape will be rebuilt with a curb and gutter. A new multi-use path and sidewalk will help facilitate active transportation to both Uxbridge Secondary School and Joseph Gould Public School. The sidewalk (north side) and multi-use pathway (south side) will mirror the work that was done on Planks Lane north of Franklin St. over the last two summers. (see cross-section diagram of street).
Public Works hosted an information session on June 7th about the project. The work on Planks Lane will be closed to traffic during construction. Local traffic and emergency vehicles will be able to access the road. The project will be substantially completed before September in order not to interfere with school traffic.
Timeline:
- Tender Awarded – May 2022
- Pre-Construction Meeting – May 2022
- Mobilization and setup – Late June 2022
- Construction Start – Beginning of July, 2022
- Substantial Completion – Start of September, 2022
- Final Clean-up – end of September 2022
