On Dec. 26th, Durham Region moves into the “Grey Lockdown Category” along with the rest of Ontario. The Provincial government has lowered limits for gatherings to a maximum 10 people outdoors (previous limit of 25). Indoor organized public events and social gatherings are not permitted except with members of the same household.

As a provider of critical services to our community, the Township of Uxbridge will continue to deliver services and operate through the lockdown although some modifications will be made related to public access to our facilities. Uxpool and the Uxbridge Arena are closed until further notice. Residents seeking assistance from Town Hall are asked to phone for an appointment.

Many businesses and enterprises face specific operating restrictions. These are described in more detail at Provincewide Shutdown (ontario.ca). You can still support our local stores and restaurants by ordering using pick-up, take-out, or delivery services.

Residents are asked to stay home to the fullest extent possible. Trips outside of the home should be for essential purposes (accessing health care and medication, grocery shopping, child care, exercise, walking pets, and supporting vulnerable community members to meet the needs above).

Please continue to manage your social bubble, limit unnecessary contacts outside your immediate family and wear a mask in public. Only by working together can we flatten the curve and prevent further pandemic restrictions.

To report a COVID violation, please contact the Durham Regional Police Service non-emergency number at 905-579-1520 or submit a complaint online at or submit a complaint online at www.drps.ca under Online Services - Community Concerns.
