The Township of Uxbridge’s 2023/2024 Operating Budget and 10 Year Capital Investment Plan were approved by the Finance Committee on February 2nd, 2023 after an in-depth review and considerable deliberations by the Finance Committee over the past few months. Council adopted the 2023/2024 Budget based on the recommendation of the Finance Committee, at the Council Meeting on February 27, 2023.

The Township’s 2023 Budget consists of operating expenditures of $20.6 million and capital expenditures of $11.9 million, of which $16.5 million will be funded through property taxes.  This represents a local property tax increase for the Municipal portion of taxes to taxpayers of 5.93% (net of growth).

“Council and staff worked very hard to deliver a budget that is responsible, provides services residents expect and manages escalating expenses,” states Mayor Dave Barton.  “Like everyone, increased costs and expenses have put pressures on our budgets. This budget manages costs, allows us to proceed with Downtown Revitalization and invest in our infrastructure.”

The Township is committed to an open, responsible and transparent budget process, providing opportunities for public consultation for the business community and general public through a budget open house forum and public budget meetings.

The Township continues to be financially stable, with competitive tax rates and strong reserve funds.  The Township is committed to maintaining its healthy financial status and a sustainable level of service.
