Marriage licence applications in the Township of Uxbridge have moved on-line with the introduction of an electronic marriage licence application system, launched March 28th.
The new on-line application system, which is funded by the Provincial Government’s Municipal Modernization Fund, will enhance applicant’s ability to apply for a marriage licence. The new system will:
- Streamline in-person appointments
- Offer applicants the convenience of applying anywhere at anytime
- Eliminate time constraints based on appointment availability
- Eliminate possibility of insufficient documentation
This new electronic system will help to make the process of obtaining a marriage licence more efficient. Applicants will be able to upload all identification and documentation required any time of day, seven days a week.
Applicants are still required to book an in-person appointment after completing the on-line application, bring original identification for review, and to sign and pay for the licence. Appointments can be made over the phone by calling 905-852-9181.
Staff are available to support those who wish to apply for a licence at Town Hall. Applicants are advised to have all the required identification and documentation readily available during their in-person appointment if an online application has not yet been processed.
More information about the new system is available at Marriage Licences - Township of Uxbridge
