The Township of Uxbridge has officially ended the State of Emergency that was put into effect on May 21st when an EF2 Tornado caused extensive damage across the municipality. Rebuilding and restoration continue in Uxbridge to recover from the storm.

The Township has maintained the State of Emergency after the tornado while the Municipality and its residents were receiving recovery services from various levels of Government and 3rd party agencies.

Province Approves Disaster Relief Funding for Eligible Uxbridge Residents and Businesses

The Province of Ontario has activated the Disaster Recovery Assistance for Ontarians (DRAO) program for Township of Uxbridge residents who qualify.

This program can help property owners/tenants recover costs after a natural disaster including:

  • clean up expenses
  • costs to repair or replace essential property
  • basic emergency expenses

You can apply if the affected property is in the activation area and if you are in one of the following categories:

  • small owner-operated businesses
  • small owner-operated farms

Township Terminates State of Emergency

The Township of Uxbridge has officially ended the state of Emergency that was implemented on March 31, 2020. The Township of Uxbridge, along with much of the province, country and world declared a state of emergency in response to the spread of COVID-19.

The Township, along with the Region of Durham and the other Region of Durham Municipalities, have terminated their declared emergencies simultaneously.
