2023 Business Count returns to Durham Region

As part of an annual Region project to gather employment statistics and build a stronger local economy, businesses in Durham Region should expect a knock on their door this spring/summer. The Regional Municipality of Durham, Planning and Economic Development Department, is conducting a Business Count to gather statistics from local businesses about their operations.

The annual Huck Finn Fishing event for youth is now an 8-day festival, running from April 22nd-29th, 2023 at Elgin Pond in Uxbridge!
Families will now be able to fish at Elgin Pond at their leisure between Saturday April 22nd and Saturday April29th. The Township of Uxbridge BIA received a non-repayable contribution of $100,000 from Central Counties Tourism to boost economic viability of the downtown by provide a welcoming experience for visitors. With over 300km of trails, Uxbridge is designated the Trail Capital of Canada. The trail system within the Township of Uxbridge sees over 100,000 visitors annually and this number is predicted to grow.
