With over 300km of trails, Uxbridge is designated the Trail Capital of Canada. The trail system within the Township of Uxbridge sees over 100,000 visitors annually and this number is predicted to grow. The Trail Sustainability Project was created to fund enhanced services and amenities such as garbage collection, trail and parking maintenance and washrooms, all of which come with an increase in trail traffic. Uxbridge is hosting a film shoot for the television production The Way Home. The film crew will be in town for set up on Wed. Sept. 14th and Thursday Sept. 15th. Production crews will be working inside and outside of the Roxy Theater (46 Brock St. W.). Some production vehicles will be parked in the Centennial Park lot, and some will be parked in the Brock St. municipal lot. Additional crew parking will take place at the South end of Elgin Park.

The eleventh annual Business Count is underway and The Region of Durham is encouraging all local businesses including home-based businesses, non-profit organizations and farms to participate by completing the Business Count survey by October 21.

Shoppers and visitors have a new way to travel between downtown Uxbridge and the Farmer’s Market on Sundays. The Town Trolley will be hosting free rides to the Uxbridge Farmers’ Market (85 Herrema Blvd.), Uxbridge Historical Centre (7239 Conc. 6) and Elgin Park (180 Main St. S.).
Continuous departures will take place from the rear parking lot at 23 Brock St. W. (near the Brock St. Parkette) from 9:30am-1:00pm. Signage will be placed indicating the location of the pick-up sites downtown.
