The Township, in partnership with Lake Simcoe Regional Conservation Authority, will be removing trees from the meadow area located on the North side of 2nd Avenue, between Rosena Lane & Bolster Lane, in late February/early March as part of a restoration project.

In an effort to restore this area, Manitoba Maples, an invasive species which prevents the growth of other species, will be removed from the meadow. The removal will be conducted with a mulching machine, removing the trees while leaving a layer of mulch to provide nutrients for new plants. Once removed, native trees and shrubs will be planted in the spring as part of this restoration project.

The removal will span over several days commencing the last week of February. A second round of removal will occur at the end of 2024.

Please expect some noise from running machinery during this time period.

The map below outlines the areas where the tree removal will be taking place.
