Off-leash Dogs Not Permitted on Baseball Diamonds

The Township of Uxbridge reminds residents that off-leash dogs are not permitted on baseball diamonds as it causes health and safety hazards.

The main health and safety issues include:

• The risk of dog attacks on nearby citizens
• Dogs digging divots in the field causing tripping hazards
• Dog waste being left behind, harbouring bacteria, and attracting rodents

Baseball diamonds are not designed to operate as dog parks. ‘No Off-leash Dogs’ signs have been posted around the diamonds indicating to residents and visitors of the restriction. Violating these restrictions can result in fines up to $200.
