Back to SearchThe Uxbridge Huck Finn Youth Fishing Days are back this spring! Starting April 26th, families can enjoy fishing at Elgin Pond all season long, with exciting opportunities to win prizes and participate in monthly photo contests. The pond will be stocked with 500 Brook trout, courtesy of the Ministry of Natural Resources, ensuring plenty of fishing fun.
Look out for the Township’s friendly By-law officers as they will be surprising lucky anglers periodically throughout the season with prizes sponsored by Canadian Tire Uxbridge. Prizes will be randomly given to those fishing at Elgin Pond, and there’s no age limit or registration required to win.
Monthly prizes are also up for grabs! To enter, simply submit photos of your fishing experience, whether it is a family photo, a picture of your catch, or a fun shot around the pond. Send your entries to events@uxbridge.ca. Be sure to visit www.uxbridge.ca/huckfinn for contest details and information on how to submit your pictures.
The fishing season officially opens on April 26th, so please refrain from fishing at the pond before this date. The Township also asks anglers to avoid using lead-based sinkers to help preserve the health of the pond and its wildlife.
