Drop off non-perishable foods now through September 28 or donate online
Uxbridge and surrounding Durham Region municipalities are once again coming together this September for National Hunger Action Month to help raise awareness, food donations, and funds to fight hunger in the community and across Durham Region.
Demand for support services is rising rapidly as food prices continue to climb, making it more important than ever to ensure that members of our community have access to the resources they need. Right now, more people are experiencing homelessness or relying on food banks and related services than ever before.
As part of the Feed the Need initiative, from September 1 to 28, the Township will be collecting non-perishable food donations at Town Hall, located at 51 Toronto Street South, Monday to Friday between 8:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m.
Residents can also increase their impact by donating online to Feed the Need in Durham. For every $1 donated, the organization can collect, store, and distribute two meals and other essential products to those in need.

While not directly affiliated with Feed the Need, residents are also encouraged to support the Uxbridge community by donating to the Loaves and Fishes Food Bank. Donations are accepted year-round at Zehrs, Pharmasave, and Trail Capital Pharmacy. To book a donation appointment or view current needs, visit: https://uxbridgefoodbank.com/our-needs/.
