Decision helps streamline Emergency Response Services during Heat Wave.

Effective immediately, the Township of Uxbridge has imposed a fire ban on all open-air burning.

Due to extreme heat and dry weather, the Uxbridge Fire Department has placed a fire ban on the Township of Uxbridge. Open flames at this time risk causing serious damage to property and environment.

No new fire permits will be issued until the ban is lifted.

Open air burning includes the use of burn barrels, outdoor fireplaces, and cooking fires, as well as fires in pits. Portable outdoor fire appliances are not approved for use in Uxbridge at any time. Residents may still use a barbeque.

All persons in the Township of Uxbridge who wish to burn must obtain a permit to have an open fire and follow the requirements listed on the back of the permit. One of the requirements is to call 905-852-9038 every time they wish to burn to ensure burning is permitted.
