Township of Uxbridge Launches Swim & Skate Pass Lending Program

The Township of Uxbridge is launching a new Swim & Skate Pass Lending Program to increase access to recreational opportunities for local residents. This initiative is designed to reduce financial and logistical barriers to participation, particularly for families, and is based on successful models already in place in other Durham Region municipalities.

Beginning July 1, 2025, adult library cardholders in good standing will be able to borrow a pass from the Library that provides free admission to drop-in swimming and skating sessions at Uxpool and Uxbridge Arena. Each pass can be borrowed for seven consecutive days and covers admission for up to five individuals. At least one individual must be an adult.

Library staff will manage the lending process, while the passes themselves will be tracked and activated through the Township’s ActiveNet system. Access to the Uxpool will begin in July, while Arena access will begin in September when public skating resumes.
