Township of Uxbridge Recognized as a Top Performer in the 2024 Durham Greener Buildings Awards

The Township of Uxbridge is pleased to announce that it has been recognized among Durham Region’s top performers in the 2024 Durham Greener Buildings (DGB) program.

Durham Greener Buildings recently reviewed the 2023–2024 data for all Broader Public Sector buildings participating in the DGB Challenge. The Township of Uxbridge’s facilities were evaluated for environmental performance, and Uxbridge has been commended for its notable achievements in reducing energy consumption and greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions.

The Township is honoured to receive the Best Energy and Emission Performance Award for a Recreation Facility for the Elgin Park Buildings. This recognition highlights the facility’s exceptional environmental performance, achieving the lowest GHG intensity and the lowest weather-normalized site energy use intensity among comparable buildings in 2024.

“This award reflects our ongoing commitment to sustainability, responsible energy management, and climate leadership,” said Kristi Honey, Chief Administrative Officer for the Township of Uxbridge. “We are proud of the work our staff have done to reduce emissions and improve building performance across the Township.”
