To meet the Durham Region Public Health requirements, we are limiting the number of users in our pool at any one time. We have introduced new rules for users and increased our cleaning to help reduce the spread of the virus.

All programming will be pay-as-you-go. All swimmers must book their swim time in advance. We have placed our membership program on hold. We are offering limited programming and will be updating our programming schedules frequently to respond to user requests.

Users are expected to wear a facemask when in the building but not in the water. Swimmers must wear their bathing suit to the pool under their clothes. Change rooms are available after the swimming session to change out of wet bathing suits.

Fall Swimming Lesson Schedule

Frequently Asked Questions:

What programs are offered?

At this time Uxpool offers lane swim, aquafit, swimming lessons and masters swim in 45-minute sessions. Users must pre-book an appointment using Activenet to reserve their spot. Appointments may be booked up to 30-minutes before the start of the session depending upon availability.

What happens if I miss my swim time?

If you are late for your appointment time, you can enter the pool but will only be allowed to stay until the end of your original appointment. This allows staff to clean before the next round of swimmers arrives. If you miss your appointment you will have to rebook another time. Please note that you must pre-pay for the appointment unless arrangements have been made with the front desk prior to coming.

What should I expect when I come to the pool?

You must already have your bathing suit on when you arrive at the pool. No change rooms are available to put your swimming suit on.

Please enter through the Main doors on Parkside Dr. All visitors to the building must wear a mask as per Health Department directives. Check in at the Front Desk, follow directional arrows and signage and sanitize your hands.

After removing your street shoes and taking them with you, walk through the lobby and directly onto the pool deck. You will remove the clothes you are wearing over your bathing suit and stow your belongings in the area marked for your lane. Hose off using the deck hose. You will wait until the start of your appointed swim time and be assigned a lane or a position by a staff member.

At the end of your swim time you leave the pool, don your mask, gather your belongings and go into the changeroom. Showers will not be available for use. After you have changed, you leave the changeroom via the pool deck and will be directed to the exit doors at the far end of the building (near the Curling Club). Speak to a staff member to help us accommodate this process if you have accessibility needs.

What COVD-19 measures are in place to protect users?

Visitors are required to wear a facemask when not in the water, and to sanitize their hands upon entering the building. The face mask policy includes children over the age of two.

There will be one swimmer per lane to keep users physically distant from each other (more than one swimmer per lane is acceptable if they are from the same household). The chlorine in the pool will kill the virus and render it inactive so it cannot be transmitted through the water.

Access to our change-rooms will be limited and change rooms and washrooms will be cleaned between swimming sessions for health. Showers will not be available.

Staff will wear masks when walking/standing on the deck and maintain a physical distance from users.

What is the format for swimming lessons?

We are excited to announce that swimming lessons will resume. They will be offered once per week for an 8 week session beginning the week of Oct. 26th. Swimming lessons will be capped at 2 to 4 participants per swimming class depending upon the level. There will not be more than 40 people in the pool enclosure at any one time.  Instructors will not enter the water with students. For young children who are swimming at a Red Cross level 4 or LOWER, a parent or guardian older than 14 years of age must be in the water with the child. We offer a family swimming-lesson option where multiple children in one social bubble can swim at the same time.

There is a limit of 1 guardian per family swimming. Please do not bring additional people to the pool with you as we have a limit on the number of people who can be in the pool enclosure. All persons who are not in the water must wear a mask at all times, including young children. Parents/guardians are responsible for ensuring their children follow all COVID-19 health protocols. Swimmers will not have access to the change-rooms prior to swimming so must arrive wearing their swimming suits. Swimming lessons must take place within the appointed time slot as the pool deck, changerooms and washrooms must be cleaned after each group of users. There are no refunds or reschedules for missed swimming lessons.

Will you be offering swimming lessons in the future?

Yes, we will be offering swimming lessons as soon as it is safe to do so and regulations permit it. The format of our swimming lessons may be modified.

Where can I learn about and register for programs?

This webpage and our Activenet site will have the most current programming. The Township of Uxbridge did not publish a 2020/2021 Fall/Winter Community guide.

What will happen to the membership fees I have already paid?

If you are a member, thank you for your patience. Your membership is on hold. When we resume using our membership services your account balance will be the same as when we closed Uxpool in March.

How can I pay for my swimming session?

We accept credit card, debit, cash and cheque.
