Permits are not required to discharge fireworks in the Township of Uxbridge on the following dates:
- The day before Victoria Day
- Victoria Day
- The day before Canada Day
- Canada Day
Fireworks permit application
A Fireworks Permit Application can be filled out and submitted by visiting the Uxbridge Fire Hall, located at 301 Brock St. West, Uxbridge during regular business hours.
The following permit fees apply:
- $50 to purchase a family fireworks permit
- $150 for display or theatrical fireworks permit
Application requirements

Your application must include:
- A description of the type and kind of fireworks that may be discharged
- The discharge techniques you will use
- How you will dispose of unused fireworks
- The number of people authorized to discharge fireworks
- A description of the discharge site
- Proof from the property owner that they authorize that fireworks can be discharged on their land
- The name of the applicant and the name of the sponsoring organization (if applicable)
- The date and time of the proposed discharge of fireworks and an alternate date and time
You also need to include the following information:
- Proof of commercial general liability insurance in an amount no less than $2 million, naming the Township as an additional insured
- Proof that the applicant has been approved by the Chief Inspector Explosives pursuant to the Explosives Act
- An Indemnification and Hold Harmless Undertaking in favour of the Township signed by the applicant or by an individual having the authority to bind the applicant
- Any other information that the Uxbridge Fire Department may require

Firework regulations
|
You must follow these guidelines when discharging fireworks:
- Provide and maintain fully operational fire extinguisher equipment ready for immediate use
- Know how to work fire extinguishing equipment
- Have the fireworks permit on site in case you need to show it to an enforcement officer
- Allow for the fireworks and site to be inspected

Permit conditions

Every fireworks permit will include the following conditions:
- You can only discharge the fireworks on the date, time and location show on the permit
- No person, except a fireworks supervisor, shall discharge any display or theatrical fireworks
- The fireworks supervisor must be on site when the display is set up, discharged and cleaned
- No person shall discharge theatrical or display fireworks within 300 m of any premise or place where explosives, gasoline or highly flammable substances are manufactured or stored
- No person shall discharge display or theatrical fireworks within 300 m of a hospital, nursing home, church or school unless the owner of the premise provided consent

Selling fireworks
