Dedicating a trail, tree or bench is a wonderful way to create a lasting legacy and celebrate the life or achievements of an individual or event in our community. The Township of Uxbridge provides multiple options to commemorate your loved one:

You can help us maintain our trails by donating. You donation helps us keep existing trails safe and accessible for everyone, and to plan and build future trails.

Donate to Uxbridge Town Trails

Dedicate a Trail Plaque 

The Township of Uxbridge offers a Trail Plaque Dedication and Donation Program, allowing you to dedicate a plaque within any of the trails in Uxbridge for a minimum donation of $250. Consider commemorating a loved one or special event. Each 4"x5" metal plaque is finished with wood grain background, gold lettering and gold border, and affixed to a wayfinder post. Go for a hike today to pick your post location! All funds raised will be used specifically for Uxbridge trails. 

Tree Dedications

The Township of Uxbridge will plant and maintain a 50 to 60 mm tree of your choice from the selection below. The cost of a tree dedication is $1,000 and includes a plaque. Tree plantings occur in spring and fall. Please select the tree of your choice from below, and take note of the application due date. 

Spring planting

If you would like to plant a tree in the spring, we need to receive your application before March 31. We offer the following tree options in the spring:

  • Birch
  • Black Willow
  • Butternut
  • Horse Chestnut
  • Japanese Lilac
  • Little Leaf Linden
  • Oak
  • Red Maple
  • Silver Maple
  • Sugar Maple
  • Walnut
  • White Pine
  • White Spruce

Fall planting

If you would like to plant a tree in the fall, we need your application by September 15. We offer the following tree options in the fall:

  • Japanese Lilac
  • Little Leaf Linden
  • Red Maple
  • Sugar Maple

Bench Dedications

A bench dedication is a beautiful option to commemorate a loved one while providing an opportunity for rest and contemplation to other trail users. The Township of Uxbridge offers two options for benches, both installed anchored to a concrete pad, both available for $3,500, and both include an inscription plaque placed in the centre of the backrest:

  1. Black enamel steel bench with seat and back rest.
  2. Black powder-coat cast aluminum frame with high-grade, smoothly contoured seat and back of UV- and moisture-resistant recycled plastic slats.

Please note applications for bench dedications must be received by September 15.
