The Canada Day House Decorating Contest has Returned!

Back in 2020, after being unable to host their yearly Canada Day fireworks show and celebration, the Canada Day committee got creative and ran a house decoration contest on social media. This year, on top of the annual fireworks and celebration, the committee is bringing the contest back!

Canada Day Celebrations at Elgin Park on July 1st

The Township of Uxbridge will celebrate Canada Day on July 1st in Elgin Park. The event will include fun family activities and the evening will be capped off with fireworks at dusk. The evening fireworks display offers the flexibility of being able to spend the day with family and friends celebrating however desired while still being offered a great way to finish off the day with a bang!

Region of Durham celebrates Pride Month

The following statement is being issued on behalf of John Henry, Regional Chair and Chief Executive Officer for The Regional Municipality of Durham:

“Tomorrow (June 1) marks the beginning of Pride season in Canada. Here in Durham Region, we are proud to recognize Pride Month; to champion equity and celebrate the ongoing and positive contributions of Two-Spirit, lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer and intersex (2SLGBTQI+) communities.
