COVID-19 vaccine spring boosters now available for high-risk groups

Durham Region Health Department is encouraging residents in specific high-risk populations to receive a COVID-19 booster dose this spring.

Due to decreasing immunity and the risk of severe illness from COVID-19, individuals in the following high-risk groups are recommended to get a spring COVID-19 booster dose if it has been at least six months, or 168 days, since their last COVID-19 vaccination or confirmed COVID-19 infection: adults 65 and older; residents of long-term care homes, retirement...

Compost Giveaway events are being held across the region from April 29 to May 27

The Regional Municipality of Durham has teamed up with the area municipalities to offer free compost to residents at special events taking place across the region.

When and where:

Saturday, May 27 from 8 a.m. to noonUxbridge Arena and Recreation Centre (parking lot), 291 Brock Street West, Uxbridge.

Why: In appreciation of a continued community-wide commitment to the Regional organics collection programs, residents are invited to our complimentary compost giveaways.

Restoration Work Resumes On Library Masonry

The exterior masonry on the Uxbridge Public Library is being restored starting the week of April 17th. The restoration of brickwork and masonry is taking place on the west side of the building and the chimneys. Scaffolding erected at the Library will enable the crews to perform the work safely. The work will take approximately 3-4 weeks depending on the weather.

Slow down in construction zones! Our road equals their workspace

With the warmer weather, the number of construction projects increases. To protect the safety of workers, other drivers, pedestrians and cyclists, all drivers are reminded to slow down and proceed with caution through construction zones or areas where workers are present.

Drivers are also reminded that speed limits are reduced in construction zones, and fines are doubled when workers are present.

2023 Transportation Tomorrow Survey underway in Durham Region

The Regional Municipality of Durham, in partnership with the Ontario Ministry of Transportation (MTO), Metrolinx, Toronto Transit Commission (TTC), and other participating municipalities across the Greater Golden Horseshoe (GGH), have launched the 2023 Transportation Tomorrow Survey (TTS).
