Information Meeting Planned for Balsam Street Stormwater Pond Retrofit

The Township of Uxbridge is planning to retrofit a stormwater management pond beginning in the summer of 2023. The pond, located south of Balsam Street and east of Turner Drive is no longer functioning as designed due to the age of the facility and vegetative growth at the site.

Uxbridge Fire Department Training with Aerial Truck Around Uxbridge

Residents may see Uxbridge’s new aerial truck in use at various locations around town as the department conducts training on the truck’s features and equipment.

Fire fighters have been training to drive and use new equipment and features on the truck since it arrived in October. The aerial truck will be at different locations around town to provide a more realistic training experience for the fire crews.

Government of Canada supports Uxbridge BIA through the Tourism Relief Fund

The Township of Uxbridge Business Improvement Area (BIA) received $100,000 grant from Central Counties Tourism through FedDev Ontario to boost economic viability of the downtown by provide a welcoming experience for visitors.  Some of the investments included rejuvenating the Brock Street Parkette, providing weekend access to public washrooms and the “Hop-on / Hop-off” trolley experience during the summer months and to once again be able to provide the “Santa Hut” to the residents of Uxbridge.

National Non-Smoking Week is January 15 to 21.
