Uxbridge Urban Provincial Park Welcomes First Visitors on Opening Day

Over 500 visitors stopped by Uxbridge Urban Provincial Park on opening day to explore existing trails on the property. The Ministry of the Environment, Conservation and Parks, Ontario Parks staff and community members were on hand on July 1st to welcome guests and answer questions about the property.

Community Supports First Uxbridge Mini-Forest Project

On Saturday July 6th, 85 dedicated volunteers gathered at the Fields of Uxbridge to lend their time and efforts to the Uxbridge Mini-Forest project.

The first phase of the Mini-Forest project was to prepare the site and soil for future planting. Volunteers put down 2800 sq. ft. of wet cardboard before layering 25 yards of compost on top. 2024 is the 150th anniversary of Lucy Maud Montgomery’s birth and Downtown Uxbridge is celebrating with a free Summer Social event. Visit historical Downtown Uxbridge on July 21 between 11am-2pm and join the celebrations. The theme for the Year of Maud is Hats, Cats & Flowers.
