Give your batteries new life: Recycle batteries during the week of April 28

Batteries dead? Don't let your old batteries go to waste!  Put household batteries out for recycling during the week of April 28 on your regular collection day. Place used household batteries in a clear, sealable plastic bag. Sealed bags are to be placed on top of your closed Green Bin for collection.

Huck Finn Returns to Elgin Pond on April 26th!

The Uxbridge Huck Finn Youth Fishing Days are back this spring! Starting April 26th, families can enjoy fishing at Elgin Pond all season long, with exciting opportunities to win prizes and participate in monthly photo contests. The pond will be stocked with 500 Brook trout, courtesy of the Ministry of Natural Resources, ensuring plenty of fishing fun.

2025 Street Sweeping Set to Commence

The Township is preparing to commence annual street sweeping, which is expected to take 6-8 weeks, weather permitting. During this time, please try to avoid on-street parking.  

Please be advised that there will be no special pick-up for sand left in piles or in pails. We ask that sand is left on the roads. Spring into action: updated waste collection schedule for Easter week

Whitby, Ontario – As the Easter holidays approach, the Region of Durham has some important updates to ensure a smooth waste collection experience for residents.

When and where: Ajax, Brock, Clarington, Pickering, Scugog and Uxbridge.

Residents who normally receive waste collection on Fridays are reminded that due to Good Friday, waste collection will take place on Saturday, April 19 instead.
