Whitby, Ontario – Starting July 1, The Regional Municipality of Durham will be accepting diapers, menstrual products, incontinence products, pet waste and pet litter in the Green Bin for weekly curbside collection. The enhanced program will continue to use the same style of Green Bins.

The Township of Uxbridge is excited to be partnering with the Rotary Club of Uxbridge and Little Forests Durham to announce the development of a mini-forest at the Fields of Uxbridge.

Public gets an early look at Ontario’s newest provincial park starting Canada Day
- In the 2024 Ontario Budget: Building a Better Ontario, the government committed $19 million over three years for the creation of Uxbridge Urban Provincial Park. This funding will be used to support costs related to regulation of the initial parcels of land, park management planning and consultation, park operations, and possible future expansion.

Sidewalk Inspections Underway in the Township of Uxbridge

During the week of June 10th, a contractor for the Township of Uxbridge will be assessing the condition of local sidewalks. The contractor will be looking for uneven or broken sections of sidewalk and identifying those which pose a trip hazard or other adverse conditions.
The contractor will be using a golf-cart to conduct the inspection, and may mark portions of the sidewalk with spray paint.
The results of the inspection will be used to create a maintenance plan for problem sidewalk areas.
Township of Uxbridge to Continue Actualizing Downtown Revitalization Plans

The Township of Uxbridge has been actively investing in the actions from the Downtown Revitalization Strategic Plan & Action Plan over the past three years. The culvert project removed a section of Brock Street West from the floodplain which now allows for re-development. With input from over 1,500 residents and visitors, the Township created a vision that can only be fulfilled with investment in key downtown properties.
