Cooling Centres Open to the Public

With soaring temperatures, the Township of Uxbridge would like to advise residents to stay hydrated, avoid over-exertion and to monitor the well-being of at-risk individuals such as young children, the elderly or those who have compromised health. 

The Township has opened various facilities as cooling centres and residents are invited to visit any of the following facilities:

  • Township Municipal Office (51 Toronto St. S., Uxbridge)
    • 8:30am-4:30pm Monday to Friday

Decision helps streamline Emergency Response Services during Heat Wave.

Effective immediately, the Township of Uxbridge has imposed a fire ban on all open-air burning.

Due to extreme heat and dry weather, the Uxbridge Fire Department has placed a fire ban on the Township of Uxbridge. Open flames at this time risk causing serious damage to property and environment.

No new fire permits will be issued until the ban is lifted.

The Township of Uxbridge intends to control noxious weeds along pre-selected rural Concession roadsides north of Davis Drive. Originally introduced in 2020 as an alternative to the fireworks display, the contest was revived last year with great success.
