Township Receives Federal Funding For Elgin Park Improvements

On Wednesday, July 20th, MP Jennifer O’Connell announced that the Township will receive $747,750.00 in funding through the Canada Community Revitalization Fund to support improvements being made to Elgin Park.

The grant will be used to fund a series of improvements to the park including:

• Replacement of existing playground with a new inclusive and accessible playground
• Winterization of public washrooms for year-round use

Township Offering Drop-In Tech Support for Permit Parking

The Township of Uxbridge will be hosting three drop-in tech support sessions to assist residents in registering for the permit parking system going into effect at various trail locations this summer.

Each session will be held in Council Chambers at Town Hall (51 Toronto St. S.) during the following dates and times

• Monday, July 25th, 4:00-6:00pm
• Tuesday, August 2nd, 4:00-6:00pm
• Monday, August 8th, 4:00-6:00pm

Cat and Kitten Adoption Day August 12th

Looking for a furry addition to your family? Well, you are in luck! The Uxbridge-Scugog Animal Shelter is hosting a Cat and Kitten Adoption Day on Friday, August 12th, from 10:30am-3:30pm at the Uxbridge-Scugog Shelter (1360 Reach St., Port Perry, ON).

Both cats and kittens will be available for adoption. Adoption applications are required and will be available onsite for you to complete. Throughout the day, staff will be reviewing applications and hosting meet and greets with the cats.

With over 300km of trails, Uxbridge is designated the Trail Capital of Canada. The trail system within the Township of Uxbridge sees over 100,000 visitors annually and this number is predicted to grow.
