Health Department preparing to provide COVID-19 vaccine to those 80 and older

Residents over the age of 80 are advised that Durham Region Health Department is currently finalizing details for an online booking system and community-wide call centre for those who wish to register for a COVID-19 vaccine. These systems are scheduled to launch over the next few days to begin providing access to vaccine based on priority populations, as outlined by the province.

Portion of Parking Lot Behind Library to be Temporarily Closed

The contractor will be working at the culvert construction site south of Brock St. during the day on the Family Day holiday (Monday, Feb. 15th) to position equipment and prepare the heavy crane to work at the site.

A portion of the parking lot behind the Library will also be temporarily closed to enable construction equipment to safely maneuver into position.

On Jan 12th, the Province of Ontario put in place an Emergency Order and implemented additional COVID-19 Restrictions. Effective Jan. 14th, the Provincial government has implemented a Stay-at-Home order, and residents are expected to stay at home except for essential purposes such as accessing health care and medication, grocery shopping, exercise, and walking pets.

Culvert Construction Paused While Engineering Study Completed

Brennan Paving and Construction has temporarily paused active construction on the installation of culverts south of Brock St. to check the impact of construction on adjacent buildings.

The Township of Uxbridge has requested additional engineering reports to better understand the situation. Obtaining updated data and information is often a necessary step in a construction project.

It is not been determined what impact the work interruption will have on the overall project schedule.

Brock St. W. Reopens to Pedestrian and Vehicle Traffic

Sidewalk on north side of street open for pedestrians 

Replacement of the Brock St. culvert underneath Brock St. W. is now complete and the road will reopen at 6:00pm on Friday, Oct. 30th. The sidewalk on the north side of the street is also open. Construction to replace the culvert continues south of Brock St. and Centennial Dr. remains closed until the end of the year.
