Mosquitoes test positive for West Nile Virus in Durham

Durham Region Health Department has received notification that adult mosquitoes in Oshawa have tested positive for West Nile virus (WNV). This is the first mosquito batch in Durham Region to test positive for WNV this season.

Trail Sustainability Fund Improving Local Trails

Over the last year, the Trail Sustainability Fund has been implemented by the Lake Simcoe Region Conservation Authority (LSRCA), Toronto and Region Conservation Authority (TRCA), the Township of Uxbridge and Region of Durham at select locations to fund enhanced services and amenities at local trail heads. The partners in the project are collecting parking fees at select parking locations and will use 100% of the proceeds to fund maintenance, and improvements to infrastructure at the trail sites.

Notice of Pesticide Use in along Township of Uxbridge Roads

The Township of Uxbridge intends to control noxious weeds along pre-selected rural Concession roadsides north of Davis Drive.

Areas to be sprayed are marked in green on the maps below (click to enlarge).

The following pesticides registered under the Pest Control Products Act (Canada) will be used:
