On December 11, 2023, Uxbridge Council denied York Durham Heritage Railway’s (YDHR) request for a lease extension. Effective December 31, 2023, the lease agreement between the Corporation of the Township of Uxbridge and YDHR will expire.

The Township of Uxbridge reminds residents that off-leash dogs are not permitted on baseball diamonds as it causes health and safety hazards.

The main health and safety issues include:

  • The risk of dog attacks on nearby citizens
  • Dogs digging divots in the field causing tripping hazards
  • Dog waste being left behind, harbouring bacteria, and attracting rodents

Major Donation May Bring New Life To Animal Shelter

The Townships of Scugog and Uxbridge are very pleased to announce that the Estate of Marlyn Ruth Rennie has made an extremely generous donation of $1,100,674 to the Uxbridge-Scugog Animal Shelter.

Reward offered for information leading to charges 

A rash of missing street signs has prompted the Township of Uxbridge to issue a warning, “Stealing a street sign is a felony, and you will be charged”. Over the past few months, nearly 40 street name signs have gone missing in the Township of Uxbridge.
