Uxbridge Fire Department Holds Training Exercises Aug. 18-20th

The Uxbridge Fire Department, along with the Fire Services of Brock and Scugog, will be conducting joint live-fire training exercises at the rear of the fire station between 8:00am and 5:00pm on Friday August 18th, Saturday August 19th, and Sunday August 20th using the Ontario Fire College’s Mobile Live Fire Training Unit (MLFTU).

Durham Region Health Department has received notification that adult mosquitoes in Oshawa have tested positive for West Nile virus (WNV). This is the first mosquito batch in Durham Region to test positive for WNV this season.

Trail Sustainability Fund Improving Local Trails

Over the last year, the Trail Sustainability Fund has been implemented by the Lake Simcoe Region Conservation Authority (LSRCA), Toronto and Region Conservation Authority (TRCA), the Township of Uxbridge and Region of Durham at select locations to fund enhanced services and amenities at local trail heads. The partners in the project are collecting parking fees at select parking locations and will use 100% of the proceeds to fund maintenance, and improvements to infrastructure at the trail sites.
