Chalk Lake Springs temporarily closed during Lake Ridge Road construction

The Regional Municipality of Durham, in co-operation with the City of Pickering, Town of Whitby, and townships of Scugog and Uxbridge, is rehabilitating Lake Ridge Road (Regional Road 23). The Chalk Lake Springs are temporarily closed during this construction.

When: Access to the springs is expected to reopen towards the end of July once construction is substantially completed in the area of Chalk Lake Road.

Sidewalk Inspections Begin in Township of Uxbridge

During the first week of June, a contractor for the Township of Uxbridge will be assessing the condition of local sidewalks. The contractor will be looking for uneven or broken sections of sidewalk and identifying those which pose a trip hazard or other adverse conditions.

The contractor will be using a golf-cart to conduct the inspection, and may mark portions of the sidewalk with spray paint.

The results of the inspection will be used to create a maintenance plan for problem sidewalk areas.

Sandford Road (Regional Road 11), Township of Uxbridge Shoulder Paving

The Regional Municipality of Durham is proceeding with shoulder paving on Sandford Road, (Regional Road 11) from 200 metres west of Concession Road 5 to Concession Road 7 (Regional Road 1), in the Township of Uxbridge.
