Convenient curbside natural Christmas tree collection in January

Whitby, Ontario – When the holidays are over, Durham Region will provide its annual curbside collection of natural Christmas trees. Natural Christmas trees will be composted with leaf and yard waste.

When and where:

  • Ajax and Pickering: Natural Christmas tree collection will be on regular collection days during the weeks of January 6 and 13 only.
  • Brock, Clarington, Scugog and Uxbridge: Natural Christmas tree collection will take place on Monday, January 6 and Monday, January 13 only.

Whitby, Ontario – The Regional Municipality of Durham would like to remind residents of changes to curbside blue box, green bin, and garbage collection due to the holidays.

When and where: Across Durham Region, waste collection scheduled for Wednesday, December 25 will be moved to the following day. The number of crimes and incidents fuelled by racism and discrimination in Canada is on the rise.

In response to this, the Durham Region Anti-Racism Taskforce (DRART) has developed new informational posters to help raise awareness about hate activity and encourage reporting of such incidents. Our goal is to ensure that community members can identify hate activities when they occur and know where support can be accessed.
