Durham Region Health Department has started West Nile virus surveillance and control activities for the season.

West Nile virus is a mosquito-borne disease that is spread to humans through the bite of an infected mosquito. Mosquitoes become infected by feeding on the blood of birds that carry the virus. Special Meeting of Durham Regional Council planned for final draft Regional Official Plan

The Regional Municipality of Durham has released the recommended final draft Regional Official Plan (ROP) and scheduled a special meeting of Durham Regional Council to consider adoption of the recommended ROP. The new ROP is the culmination of work completed through Envision Durham, the Municipal Comprehensive Review (MCR) of Durham’s existing ROP.
