Township of Uxbridge to Continue Actualizing Downtown Revitalization Plans

The Township of Uxbridge has been actively investing in the actions from the Downtown Revitalization Strategic Plan & Action Plan over the past three years.  The culvert project removed a section of Brock Street West from the floodplain which now allows for re-development.  With input from over 1,500 residents and visitors, the Township created a vision that can only be fulfilled with investment in key downtown properties.

Artwork Unveiled at the Uxbridge-Scugog Animal Shelter, in Recognition of Generous Donor.

Staff at Uxbridge-Scugog Animal Shelter were joined by members of both the Uxbridge and Scugog Council for a mural unveiling on June 8th. The mural was created to commemorate Marlyn Ruth Rennie for her extremely generous donation made last fall. The Estate of Marlyn Rennie donated $1,100,674 to the Uxbridge-Scugog Animal Shelter, contributing to the fundraising efforts for the new Animal Shelter.

Notice of Pesticide Use along Township of Uxbridge Roads

The Township of Uxbridge intends to control noxious weeds along pre-selected rural Concession roadsides north of Davis Drive.

Areas to be sprayed are marked in green on the maps below (click to enlarge).

Annual roadway line painting operations begin

The Regional Municipality of Durham would like to advise residents that roadway line painting is starting. Drivers are asked to exercise caution when approaching these vehicles. Before heading out on the road, residents can follow line painting operations in real time using live traffic and navigation apps.

Operations are taking place primarily on weekdays between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m., with occasional weekend and nighttime operations, from June to November.
