Durham Region is eliminating paper waste collection calendars to reduce waste

As part of The Regional Municipality of Durham’s Long-term Waste Management Plan to mitigate environmental impacts, paper waste collection calendars will no longer be distributed to households. Residents of the Town of Ajax, Municipality of Clarington, City of Pickering, and Townships of Brock, Scugog and Uxbridge are encouraged to download the Durham Region Waste App or access the online collection calendar at durham.ca/waste.

With geese and migratory birds starting to return to the community, the Township of Uxbridge is aware of cases of birds that have died or are presumed to be infected with avian influenza (H5N1), also known as bird flu. Township of Uxbridge staff have responded to reports of geese in distress at Elgin Pond. Region of Durham and DRT accepting applications for the Transit Advisory Committee

The Region of Durham and Durham Region Transit (DRT) are currently accepting applications from residents in Oshawa, Scugog and Uxbridge for the Transit Advisory Committee (TAC).

The TAC is comprised of 17 members in total (16 voting and one non-voting) with representation from each area municipality. Details about membership, composition and eligibility criteria are outlined in the Terms of Reference.
